Quantrix Version 25.3 Product Release
Improvements in Modeler Version 25.3.0
Modeler Highlights
A new scripting type, QuantrixScript, supports an action script calling another action script in its method. The new QuantrixScript type includes new methods and properties, autocomplete help and supporting online scripting help additions to support this powerful new feature. Please see the Using QuantrixScript help topic for details and use the information in the help topic in conjunction with Modeler’s autocomplete within the scripting editor, as well as with the online scripting help.
New read-only scripting properties allow you to return the location of a cell on a canvas, including its x and y value, and its width and height. Scripting autocomplete, the online scripting help and the Webhelp topic Scripting Examples are updated to include the new canvas cell scripting options.
Another new scripting type allows you to return information about canvas charts and their legend objects, and the script can be run in Modeler and Qloud. Scripting autocomplete, the online scripting help and the Webhelp topic Scripting Examples are updated to include the new canvas scripting options.
To return legends from canvas charts:
|My Canvas::My Chart|.legend
To return a canvas chart from the legend:
|My Canvas::My Legend|.chart
To return legend items directly from a legend:
|My Canvas::My Legend|.legendItems
Scripting is improved with a new read-only property, cell, that can be used with items, categories, groups, and formulas, and with the cell property (/cells) to access a single cell or the first cell.
Certain script objects expose a new property called note. With it you can:
Use scripting to set, get, and delete notes on items, groups, categories, formulas and cells
Use scripting to set, get, and delete comments on views in the model browser (ignoring formatting)
Use scripting to get cells (/cell) directly from a matrix, matrix view, category, group, or to get a cell or cells directly from a matrix, category, group, item, item selection, or cell selection.
Scripting autocomplete, the online scripting help and the Webhelp topic Scripting Examples are updated to include the new properties.
A scripting improvement is the ability to use scripting methods to add canvases to a model and canvas objects to a canvas:
createMatrix() and createMatrix(name) creates a matrix and corresponding modeling matrix view, and returns the reference to the scripting matrix
createMatrixView(matrix_view) and createTableView(matrix_view, name) creates a matrix view based on the argument passed in and returns the value
createChart(matrix_chart_or_table_view) and createChart(matrix_chart_or_table_view, name) creates a chart view based on the argument
createPresentation() and createPresentation(name) creates a presentation view
Another scripting improvement lets you add these canvas objects using scripting:
createMatrixView(matrix_view) and createMatrixView(matrix_view, name) creates a matrix view on a canvas
createChart(matrixorchart_view) and createChart(matrixorchart_view, name) create a chart on a canvas
createTextBox(text) and createTextBox(text, name) creates a chart with the text in the box with a default size
Charts includes the new Mekko/Mosaic (2D) chart type, which dynamically gives you variable bar widths based on the data:

Note that formatting options that aren’t applicable for Mekko are disabled or ignored. Note also that the range axis is labeled with 0 at the bottom and 1 at the top and cannot be inverted. Mekko charts are vertical-orientation only and items cannot be mapped to other axes.

Significant Fixes in Qloud Version 25.3.0
Performance improvements relating to number format caching algorithms should resolve slow rendering issues that occurred in certain situations.
Resizing nested nodes in outline mode no longer sometimes causes a view to fail to render and the related error no longer appears on the console.
Scripts that modify views or charts in the presentation canvas now properly affect the correct view for the user.
Multiple users generating PDFs with headers and/or footers at the same time no longer results in significant slowdowns.
When Date Time types are not being used, date discrepancies due to time zone differences between the client and the server no longer occur and dates on the web client now match the dates on the server.
When Date Time types are not being used, scripts copy date values to other cells correctly and the date values on client and server are the same irrespective of time zone differences.
Performance is improved in models with many matrices regarding responsiveness when the models are concurrently viewed and edited by multiple users.

Hi there,
To get you running with the new subscript feature, use these tipps. More to come soon!!!
Gilbert
- Get a list of all scripts in the model:
model.scripts
- To run your Script “myScript” as a subscript from another script:
myScript() or
myScript.perform()
Both will run the “perform”-method of the script (see Expert mode)
- You can also add additional methods, other than perform() in the header of your script-file (in Expert-mode). When typing “myScript.” the autocomplete will show all available methods in this script, so this allows you to write libraries.
- You can pass parameters to your methods as well, building clean and powerful, modular scripts. E.g.
myScript.logText(“This text is written to log”)
