I am trying to create a formula that shows the number of working days in a month (i.e. the number of Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays and Fridays in a particular month).
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
This is another solution model of the author’s problem. The model is quite simple and universal. The model consists of three steps:
1. Ask the inclusive date interval. You may input any date period.
2. One simple formula counts how many Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sa and Su are between two dates.
3. The particular answer to the author’s problem. Another simple formula counts the number of working days in the date interval.
Attached is a solution for you. I’d suggest that you incorporate some sort of DateDimension table if you have one from a Database. I’ve done this in the DateDim matrix on the accompanying file. You can then created a DataLink from this to populate categories for month, year, days. After that it is a count using as referencing the DateDimension Matrix.
Let me know if you have questions. I’ll try to make a video of this soon, and post the link to the video.
