7. YTD = sum(MTD:Month[FIRST]:Year[THIS] .. MTD:Month[THIS]:Year[THIS]) SKIP Beginning Cash,Change in Cash,Ending Cash

I think you’re in the similar situation like l was. The model which l had those challenges was also importing from Oracle via data nav. I think , we will be closer home if we zero in on how you’re importing.

Maybe let’s chat on Skype , so that we round up faster. My Skype name is tafadzwa.masarira

I use the time lines in reporting and forecasting. Three statements are generated, and income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow. I import data in to cubes from oracle. The item dimension has MTD imported and YTD is calculated.

Recursive time is used for this calculation (month[first] .. month[this]) This technique works within a matrix (ie income statement). The cash flow uses data from different matrices (mostly balance sheet). [First] aggregates from the beginning of time not within a year.

Hello Milo,

If your model is connected to a database and you’re using v5, the timelines will always throw an error when model is updated. This is a known issues which Quantrix guys are working on. I have developed one of my model from scratch using v4.1 to get my timeline functionality working fine.

However if your are not connected to a database, l think it should be working fine. Kindly give more details.

I hope this helps.
