Summarization not working

I am using Datalink to summarize data from a 2D matrix to a multi-dimensional table. However, some of the columns are not summarizing for me. They are real numbers (not integers), there are no errors or blanks in the column. They are involved in formulae, but despite multiplying by 1, using value() etc, they still won’t sum for for me in the multi-d table.

One clue: when I use CountA instead of SUM or COUNT, then it does work.

Has anyone observed this behaviour? I want to avoid having to write formulae to deal with this.

Thanks Mike, this worked.

Interesting – if I recreate the datalink from scratch I don’t get the problem, but updating existing datalink shows the problem. See attached. We will investigate further and see if we can clean this up in a future release.

One work-around could be to try redoing your datalink’s to a new matrix.

I think this small model reproduces my problem.

Any way you can post a sample file? I concur that the DataLink is thinking the fields are text for some reason…

Thanks for this… It is in number format, I have also tried value(), floor() to make it integer, and adding .00001 to get around the zeroes.

Despite all this, it won’t summarize. CountA is as far as I can get.

It has made for a bad Quantrix day…

I’ve had it happen where the original data is in as text without appearing to be. I’ve changed the format to number in that matrix and updated Datalink to fix.

Do you have them checked off as Sum in second last step of Datalink?

Did you set them to Double in the Datalink? Sounds like they’re coming in as text.
