Out of memory error

Hi. I am using some medium sized models with several datalinks in them. The amount of data imported is not huge, and I have reserved 1,6 GByte to Quantrix Modeler in my MacBook. However, after upgrading to 4.1.37/38 I obtain “AWT event queue java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen” rather frequently, with QM hanging without possibility of recovering open models.
The problem comes out with various types of connected DB (e.g. MS Access or IBM DB2).
Since I’m also using some rather complex scripts, the cause may be memory consumption by script execution. However, it would be interesting to know whether someone else has experienced similar problems with datalinks.

Mike – As far as I can understand, the issue may involves some complex technical aspects. In order to focus, I have a question for your colleague: how could a script suppress the use of paginated data space?

Luca – one of our engineers reported “The OutOfMemory:Permgen indicates heavy usage of permgen memory which is typically allocated to classes and interned String. Should not happen in 4.1 code unless he is suppressing the use of the paginated data space…?”

does that help at all? If you could provide a sample model demonstrating this problem behavior… we would like to compare 4.0 vs 4.1.
