DataLink Issues

I am trying to connect to a Oracle database in house with Datalink. I have used the Datalink wizard, selecting OBDC and SQL options. When asked to test the connection with a user name and password, I get a ‘Test Successful” message. The next step of wizard basically calls for the re-entry of the same user name and password. When I do this I get an error message stating:

“Connection failed: java.lang.RuntimeException:
com.subx.general.data.core.iapi.jdbc.JDBCConnectionException: Connection canceled by user.”

I cannot get any further into the Datalink Wizard. What should I be looking at to resolve the error received? Any help appreciated.

Well, I tried it again with the same settings as I initially tried. This time I saved the user name and password with check box that appears when testing the connection. The test connection worked fine and when the next dialogue box appeared, I used the same user name and password and it worked. The first time I tried this I did not save my password and user name and I subsequently received the error message above. Don’t understand why the password and user name have to be saved. Any way, I now have access to the database.
