Hello.

I’m new to Quantrix and I want to create a simple budget balancing model with 2 category,6 column/item :

Date | Type | Label | Input | Output | Total (cumulative)
E1
E2
E3
.
.

… and 2 formulas :

Total:E1 = Input:E1-Output:E1

E[THIS]:Total = E[THIS]:Input – Ecriture[THIS]:Output + E[PREV]:Total

I want to sort data by Date without change the order of the E items to conserve the right order of cumulative total.

Is it possible ?

Hi – Groups may help here. You can group like items and add auto summary calculations for the group and for the entire category. Please see the attached model file.

On a small example :

Type | Value
———————
Investment | 1000
Taxe | 200
Other | 300
Investment | 500
Taxe | 150

I want to calculate sum of investments, sum of taxes and sum of others.

I am not sure I quite understand your question, but you can always add more items or matrices that will perform additional calculations on the data. There is really no limit. Feel free to post a model file showing your question if you need more information.

Now another column is added containing the type of input/output (Iinvestment, taxes, social contributions …) like this :

Type Input Output
E1 Investment 1500
E2 Taxe 1000
E3 Sale 1400

How calculations may be performed concerning a particular type of I/O (sum of investment …) ?

Thanks for your response. Data can be copied and past sorted to the orginal matrix. But I suggest to add a new functionnality to do this without special “tips”.

Hi – Thank you for posting:

Have you tried using Views and performing a sort of cell values in the View? Try this:

– When focused on your matrix, choose Insert > Table View from the menu
– This will create a view of the matrix where you can apply formatting independent of the main matrix. Right click on the Date item and choose Sort > Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.

This will apply a sort to the cell data without disrupting the logic of your model.

I have attached a model file showing an example of this technique. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Maybe I’ve not well explainded my problem.

When I sort data by date the original order of E items logically change from

E1
E2
E3

to (for example)

E2
E36
E12

But the cumulative total loose coherence because E36 don’t refer to E2 but to E35.

Must I change the structure of the model to solve this problem or the formulas ?
