Pasting speed

I’ve been pasting 3500 x 132 cell grids from Excel into slices of a Quantrix hypercube. Each slice takes about an hour to paste. Is there a trick to speed this process up?

The import happens speedily enough, but the result is a new matrix. Copying that and pasting it into position in the intended slice of the cube takes a long time.

Not sure of your exact use case, but maybe importing from the clipboard is an option. Choose Tools > DataLink > Import from Clipboard, and maybe you can import the clipboard contents into a 2D matrix?

Windows XP, on a dual-core 1.8Ghz machine with 1G of memory.
